Privacy Policy

Findrr ("we", "us", "our") operates the Findrr web application at findrr.app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Romanian law 190/2018.

2. What We Collect

• Account data: username and password (password is stored as a SHA-256 hash and is never visible to us).
• Session data: your IP address, used to maintain login sessions.
• User-generated content: map markers (latitude/longitude), addresses, reviews, reports, and photos you choose to submit.
• Location data: your device's approximate location is only used in-browser to show you nearby markers — we do not store it on our servers unless you explicitly submit it as a marker.
• Browser storage: we use localStorage to remember your username so you stay logged in.
• Advertising data (if ads are enabled): Google AdSense may set cookies and process your IP address and browsing behavior to serve personalized ads. See Google's policies at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

• Contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)): account creation, login, storing markers/reviews you submit.
• Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)): security logging (IP addresses), preventing abuse.
• Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): advertising cookies, analytics.

4. How We Use Your Data

We use the data only to operate Findrr — displaying the map, authenticating you, and showing other users the markers and reviews you submit. We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third parties except:

• Our hosting provider (Oracle Cloud) — for the server running the app.
• Google (if ads are enabled) — for serving and measuring ads.

5. Data Retention

Account data is kept until you delete your account. Markers, reviews, and photos you post are kept until you (or an administrator) remove them. Server logs (IP, login sessions) are kept for 30 days then automatically rotated.

6. Your Rights

Under GDPR you have the right to:

• Access your data;
• Correct inaccurate data;
• Delete your data ("right to be forgotten");
• Restrict or object to processing;
• Data portability;
• Withdraw consent at any time;
• Lodge a complaint with the Romanian National Supervisory Authority (ANSPDCP).

7. Cookies

We use the following categories of cookies/storage:

• Essential: localStorage for login state. Required for the app to function — cannot be disabled.
• Advertising (if enabled): Google AdSense cookies. You can reject these via the cookie banner or through Google's ad settings at adssettings.google.com.

8. Children

Findrr is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

9. Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS). Passwords are hashed. However, no online service can guarantee perfect security — use a unique password you don't reuse elsewhere.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top will change, and significant changes will be announced via the app.
